How a row gets in
Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10, 2025 at Utah Valley University. This week is the first anniversary. The prompt was “all the left organizations which celebrated.” That sentence is too big. National parties mostly condemned the killing. Celebration was real, documented, and concentrated in chapters, cells, occupations, and feeds — not a DNC resolution.
Inclusion
- A contemporaneous quote, post, Discord log, open letter, or on-stage remark celebrating, mocking, or justifying the killing or its anniversary.
- Or organized disruption of remembrance this week (memorial protest, “make it uncomfortable,” Kirkversary talk).
- A published source with a URL. Conservative campus papers are allowed when they quote primary material; they are flagged in caveats.
Exclusion
- Criticism of Kirk’s views, silence, or a refusal to eulogize.
- Unions defending members’ off-duty speech while stating no one should celebrate murder.
- Hate-map listings (SPLC, former ADL glossary) that predated the killing. Those are a climate argument, not a celebration.
Scores
Importance weights evidence directness, public reach, and whether the actor was live in the anniversary window. Size is organizational scale (members, followers, documented case counts for aggregates). Funding uses public revenue where it exists (DSA 990-equivalent reporting) and is near-zero for anonymous cells. Unknown money is labeled unknown — not invented.
